MilDef, a global systems integrator specialising in rugged IT, has unveiled plans to expand its premises in Stockholm, Sweden.

The expansion includes the construction of a new property, providing more than 6,000m² of office and production space.

The decision to expand comes as MilDef’s current premises are noted to limit further expansion.

To address this, MilDef entered into an agreement with LEJE Fastigheter, a real estate developer, for the construction of the new office and production facility in Rosersberg.

The latest development is expected to expand MilDef’s capacity in integration services fourfold and enable the handling of larger assignments.

MilDef president and CEO Daniel Ljunggren said: “After the launch of our modern office and production facility in Helsingborg and last year’s opening of an assembly plant in Cardiff [Wales], it is now time to focus on our growing integration business in the Stockholm region.”

The new facility is set to consolidate the company’s rental premises in the Stockholm region.

Construction is scheduled to commence in late 2024, with the company expecting to move into the new facility one year later.

MilDef Sweden/Finland managing director Carl Runemar said: “It feels fantastic to move to premises adapted to our operations and to gather all production staff under one roof.

“With a quadrupled production area, we have the opportunity to take on larger and more advanced assignments in Sweden, in premises adapted to existing and future operations.”

The announcement comes after MilDef signed a ten-year framework agreement with BAE Systems Bofors in February this year.
