In buildings, handrails should be installed on stair sections, rest platforms, balconies, etc. to prevent people from falling during walking or activities.
In addition to considering the requirements of sturdiness, safety and aesthetics, the main point of railings and handrails is to have a sufficient height.
On the stair rest platform, the height of the top surface of the handrail should not be less than 1050mm above the horizontal railing of 24m.
The handrail height of the balcony rail should not be less than 1050mm.
On the stair section, the height of the handrail of the balustrade (the vertical distance from the leading edge of the tread to the top surface of the handrail) should not be less than 900mm.
For railings and handrails in buildings with children's activities such as residential buildings and kindergartens, the net distance between the railings should not be greater than 1100 mm, and the railings should not be easy to climb.
